Our leaders champion every aspect of Blue Star Sports’ business, from product innovation and customer service to marketing, financials, governance, and workforce issues.

Rob Wechsler’s latest venture in a long string of entrepreneurial endeavors is Blue Star Sports – the leading youth sports software and payments company he founded with Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. Rob serves as a Director of many companies for profit and charitable alike. He holds a Law degree with honors from Hofstra University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from S.U.N.Y. Fredonia in New York.

As President and CEO, Alex Alt leads the entire Blue Star Sports organization and manages all elements of the fast-growing business. Alex has a proven track record of scaling businesses and delivering innovative technology solutions underpinned by a highly customer-centric service and support model. Prior to Blue Star Sports, Alex served as President of Sabre’s fast-growing Hospitality Solutions business. During his tenure as President, Alex tripled the size of the business and firmly established Sabre Hospitality as the leading global provider of SaaS solutions for the hospitality industry. Alex has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from the University of Texas.

As Chief Financial Officer, Rick is responsible for all financial aspects of Blue Star Sports and its growing portfolio of technology companies. As the leader of the finance organization, Rick is focused on supporting all aspects of the Company’s growth through organizational optimization and financial leadership. Rick has more than 24 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of excellence as a business leader and finance professional, including direct experience as CFO of multiple private equity backed software companies. Prior to Blue Star, Rick was CFO of Insurity, a leading software provider to the insurance industry, where he was recognized as CFO of the Year in 2015. Rick also has prior experience with large publicly traded corporations. Rick’s track record of achievement, experience taking businesses through multiple phases of growth and extensive expertise in M&A transactions, makes him a unique asset to Blue Star. Rick received his BSBA in Accounting & Business Administration from Bryant University.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Matt is responsible for all commercial aspects of Blue Star Sports’ growing portfolio of technology products. As the leader of the sales and marketing organizations, Matt is squarely focused on building upon Blue Star’s leadership position and driving growth through innovation in its go-to-market and overall business strategy. Matt previously lead Kinnser Software’s go-to-market strategy overseeing the Sales and Marketing teams where he helped lead the successful sale of Kinnser to Texas Pacific Group. Prior to joining Kinnser, Matt was VP of North American and Enterprise Sales at Austin-based Bazaarvoice. Matt has more than 20 years of experience working with fast-growing technology companies, including two SaaS companies he helped lead to public stock offerings — FreeMarkets, (acquired by Ariba which is now an SAP company) and Bazaarvoice. Mr. Curtin received his BS in Organizational Communication, graduating with honors, from Ohio University.

As CTO, Michael Dunn manages product development and the technology platforms that Blue Star Sports offers to sports organizations, coaches, athletes, and teams. He manages the company’s technology strategy, architecture, product engineering, and technical infrastructure. His background includes over 20 years of experience in various industries and technical leadership roles. Most recently he served as CTO at Match and previously served as CTO at DexMedia. Mr. Dunn earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University and his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

As COO, Sean Pickett is responsible for Customer Support, Professional Services, and Account Management. He has 25 years experience in various software industries, including library automation, utilities, telecom, and SCADA. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at the Vista Consulting Group, developing operations best practices for the companies across the Vista Equity portfolio. Mr. Pickett has a BA in Philosophy from the University of San Diego and an MLIS from the University of California, Berkeley.

As Chief Revenue Officer, Michael oversees growth initiatives for Blue Star Sports including sales, business development and go-to-market strategy & execution. He has over 15 years of sales, business development and operations experience in sports & technology. Recently, as Co-Founder and COO of CaptainU, the leading youth sports recruiting platform, Michael ran sales, marketing, operations, business development and digital revenue. Michael graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Computer Science and an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

As Chief Digital Officer, Nick Palazzo oversees all digital, content, brand and marketing efforts at Blue Star Sports. Prior to Blue Star Sports, Nick served as Founder and CEO of STACK Media, a leading youth sports media company acquired by Blue Star Sports in mid-2017. Nick has a BA from Harvard University where he was a member of the varsity football team.

As Chief People Officer, Casey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of talent and people operations at Blue Star Sports. As the leader of Human Resources, she drives the company’s human capital management strategy – including talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits and employee engagement programs – to support the company’s continued growth, innovation and profitability. Casey was previously Head of HR for Drillinginfo, a global analytics SaaS company, where she helped fuel massive growth, a sale to private equity, several successful acquisitions and developed a global talent strategy that led the company to receive many Best Places to Work awards. Casey received her BA in International Relations from Colgate University.

As Vice President of Strategic Programs, Brandon Flora leads a variety of high-impact projects that support the growth strategy and operations of the Blue Star Sports. Prior to joining Blue Star, Brandon was Director of Strategic Programs at Omnitracs, an end-to-end fleet management software and solutions provider, where he led the value creation process. Brandon has also held business and finance roles for other industry leading SaaS and technology companies. Brandon received his MBA from UCLA Anderson and his BS from Virginia Tech.

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing Operations, Scott Chao optimizes and accelerates the sales and marketing engine at Blue Star Sports. In this role, he drives key functional areas including go-to-market strategy, sales effectiveness and marketing ROI reporting, technology, enablement, and incentive programs. Previously, Scott served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing Operations at Cvent (formerly known as Lanyon), where he helped scale the company by more than 15x through rapid M&A integration and value creation. Scott has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and BSE and BS degrees from Duke University.
